All HI's campaigns are based on our direct experience working alongside the most vulnerable people in situations of poverty, exclusion, conflict and disaster. We believe that disability rights are human rights and that no one should be left behind.
By taking action with our supporters, we have seen the incredible impact that can be made when people coming together to fight against injustice.
When we started campaigning in the early 1990s, nobody thought a global ban on landmines was possible. But, thatnks to the support from hundreds of thousands of people around the world, the Mine Ban Treaty was signed in 1997, followed by the Cluster Munitions Ban in 2008.
In the years since, millions of these indiscriminate weapons have been cleared and destroyed, ensuring that they are no longer a risk to local communities. And, as a result, thousands of lives have been saved. Clearing landmines and cluster munitions has helped to keep children and families safe in their homes and prevent life-changing accidents.
How has this been possible? Because of people like you, who diligently sign petitions, write to politicians and donate to campaigns. At Humanity & Inclusion, we’re continuing our campaigns to protect civilians and support the most vulnerable people.
