Almost a week after the earthquake, the figures are alarming: more than 380,000 people have been affected by the disaster, including thousands who are homeless.

HI in Lebanon has just begun new clearance operations in the Chouf district of Mount Lebanon province. Once released, the land – abandoned for the last 40 years – will be used for agriculture.
A shared-garden project initiated by the Red Cross (HI’s partner on the RECOSA project) is helping people living in the Sahel region ensure their food security.

In April 2023, HI declared the village of Santander de Quilichao in Colombia free of mines. After living in fear for twenty years, its inhabitants are now getting on with their life.
