The humanitarian crisis continues to worsen, with 12.7 million people in need of assistance according to the humanitarian needs response plan. The intensification of attacks on essential infrastructure has made life increasingly difficult for millions of Ukrainians, and the number of civilian casualties continues to rise.

    HI’s programme in the Central African Republic supports humanitarian organisations by providing logistical solutions to improve the storage and distribution of humanitarian aid.     HI has been operational continuously in Libya since 2011, and up until the end of 2014 delivered large-scale Humanitarian Mine Action. Today, HI works to protect vulnerable groups from the dangers of explosive remnants of war and small arms and light weapons through risk education messaging.

    In the previous years, HI supports social and economic inclusion projects for the most vulnerable and people with disabilities, and ensured they can access to inclusive multi-sectoral assistance, services, and information during the COVID-19 pandemic.

    HI works in Iraq by providing rehabilitation care and psychosocial support, conducting clearance operations, and running explosive remnants of war risk awareness raising sessions.

    In Jordan, HI actively supports rehabilitation services for people with disabilities. The organisation identifies risks or early signs of disability in young children and provides timely rehabilitation services to mitigate potential complications. Additionally, HI promotes inclusive employment and ensures access to education for all, focusing on children with disabilities. HI also supports livelihood opportunities for people with disabilities and supports deinstitutionalisation efforts, promoting community-based care and independent living for individuals with disabilities.
