Emilie was 6 years old when she lost her foot in a landmine explosion in Cambodia. She was one of the very first people to be fitted with a prosthesis by HI in its early days.

Prabin, 6, was born without the lower part of his right leg. HI met him 5 years ago when the family was referred to a rehabilitation centre in Biratnagar Nepal. Since then, he’s come on leaps and bounds.

Raphaël’s specially adapted crutches have made it easier for him move around and be more self-reliant – including walking to school by himself.

Malika is ten years old and lives in Maradi, Niger. She has a visual disability and, with the support of HI, she is now in third grade at school and is making great progress.

As a consequence of malnutrition, Massalouka, aged two and a half, could not sit up unaided. Today, thanks to HI's rehabilitation services in Niger, she is making amazing progress.
