Staff spotlight: Anna’s change of plans June, 2 2022

28-year old Anna Bekh went home to visit family in Ukraine. When conflict arose two days later, she joined HI’s emergency response in her hometown.

Judy, 8, lives in Jordan with her mother and her sister. She struggles with certain movements and has paralysis in her legs. She has been attending rehabilitation sessions with Humanity & Inclusion to improve mobility and gain independence.

HI provides mental health support for older people displaced by Ukraine war July, 11 2022

Among the millions displaced by violent warfare in Ukraine, older people are among the most vulnerable. HI teams are providing individual and group services to help them cope with distress.

Jerome was severely affected by the earthquake in August 2021 and then by a stroke. Humanity & Inclusion is providing him with physical rehabilitation and psychosocial support to help him overcome these challenges.

Chad: Hawa is going back to school with her new prosthesis July, 25 2022

Hawa is 14 years old. She lives in Fourkoulham, a camp for internally displaced people on Lake Chad. Born without a left foot, she is able to go back to school with her prosthesis provided by Humanity & Inclusion.

Diana championed the ban of landmines. 25 years on from her death, their use is on the rise again August, 25 2022

Saturday 31st August 2022 marks the 25th anniversary of the death of Diana, Princess of Wales. Humanity & Inclusion pays tribute to her tremendous work in bringing global attention to the scourge of landmines. The Ottawa Treaty banning landmines was championed by the Princess and signed in December 1997, three months after her death.

Since 2016, Humanity & Inclusion (HI) has been running demining operations in the department of Cauca. Today, the region around the municipality of Inzá is mine-free. The communities are resuming their activities safely.
