Cultivating peace in a village freed from the threat of mines August, 11 2023

In April 2023, HI declared the village of Santander de Quilichao in Colombia free of mines. After living in fear for twenty years, its inhabitants are now getting on with their life.

Mario Monteiro is a young man who lives in Mozambique. At school, he used to be mocked and shunned, but since HI supported him, he has made friends and can pursue his dreams.

At least 1.4 million people have been affected and more than 411,000 have been forced to flee due to massive flooding in several regions of Mindanao Island, in the south of the Philippines.

Two powerful earthquakes in four days: more than 12,000 people affected in Afghanistan October, 13 2023

On 7 and 11 October, two 6.3 magnitude earthquakes hit Afghanistan’s Herat province. HI has been present in the country since 1987 and is now working alongside its partners to help the victims.

Inclusive Futures has won a global award for its work on collaborating with organisations of people with disabilities. Humanity & Inclusion (HI) is part of the Inclusive Futures initiative, led by Sightsavers and funded by UK Aid, which is working to ensure no one is left behind.
