Mahamat (not his real name) is 13 years old. After fleeing his village after attacks by armed groups, he is now living in a camp for displaced people in Kousseri, on the shores of Lake Chad.

Due to malnutrition, two-year-old Yacouba had lost the ability to walk. HI's stimulation therapy sessions have made him more autonomous, much to the delight of his whole family.

Up to 300,000 Sudanese are expected to cross the border and will need humanitarian assistance. HI is prepared to aid refugees and host communities. Donors are urged to prevent disaster.
